Obituary of Jane E. Zerbe

Jane E. Zerbe, 71, of Lucinda, died suddenly Friday evening, November 16, 2012 at her home. Born September 18, 1941 in Snydersburg, she was the daughter of the late Leonard F. and Charlotte C. Schmader Wolbert. She married Dewayne H. Zerbe on October 15, 1960 at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda and he survives. Jane was a member of St. Joseph Church in Lucinda and a member of the Rosary Society of the church. She was also a member of the Clarion Chapter of the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed crosswords, quilting and was an avid reader. Most of all, she enjoyed her children and her beautiful grandchildren. In her earlier years, she worked at the former Grandview Health Care in Clarion, Beverly Healthcare in Shippenville (now Goldenliving Healthcare), the Sawmill Restaurant in Leeper and Dechant's Farm Market in Lucinda. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and two daughters: Christopher E. Zerbe and his fiance, Tammi of Lucinda; Jennifer A. Maher and her husband, Daniel of Fryburg; Stephanie L. Schmader and her husband, Douglas of Pittsburgh and Matthew W. Zerbe and his wife, Theresa of Lucinda. She is also survived by a sister, Lucille (Toodle) Collett of Lucinda and two brothers, Vincent (Bint) Wolbert and his wife, Nina of Vowinckel and Edwin Wolbert and his wife, Betty of Lucinda. In addition she is survived by 6 grandchildren: Jason and Bradley Maher, Joshua and Alexis Schmader, Morgan Rae Zerbe and Justin Haibach. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. In addition she is survived by a brother-in-law, Tim Zacherl of Erie and a sister-in-law, Peg Wolbert of Lucinda. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters: Gervase Wolbert, Claude Wolbert, Roy Wolbert, Leonard Wolbert, Mercedes Weaver and Shirley Zacherl. Friends and family may call from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 9 - 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Czarkowski, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Joseph Church, P.O. Box 9, Lucinda, PA 16235.
