My earliest memories of Daph, and Joe and father in law Peter go back to about 1939. Joe and Daph and Joe's siblings were first cousins to my Mom Eleanor (Rynd) Plummer and were always high on the must visit list when the Plummer family visited Crown in those early years. I have many fond memories of those early visits, but in later years, especially after my mothers passing, my visits were to Daph, for wonderful visits when we could get our schedules to match for a Dinner or Lunch at the Sportsman's or occasionally at Daph's home. My wife Ann grew to love visiting Daph from the first meeting. Daph helped identify family members in many of the photos I found in the attic of the McLaughlin/Rynd/Plummer farmhouse in Crown. Daph was a wonderful and very good person and loved my all. I have very fond memories of the visits, especially during the past ten years before she left Crown. The Plummer family has sent a memorial to St. Mary Church for Daph and her family. I regret that I learned of her passing a few days too late to visit for one last time.

Dear McLaughlin Family, I just wanted to express my deepest sympathy at the passing of your darling mother. I have very fond memories of your mom, and all her wonderful acts of kindness she showed to my mother at the time of her illness. The best thoughts I have of her are at the “breakfast table” at the Sportsman’s after weekday mass. I got to share some of those moments when I would go to Crown for a visit. I loved the conversation between Daph and Uncle Ted. If she thought he was teasing too much she would just call him an “old fool” with a smile on her face and Ted would light up with delight! I pray that her arrival in heaven was met by the rest of the breakfast gang with hugs and happiness. I am honored to have known your mother and will cherish those happy memories forever. There are so many wonderful things, moments, and times I had spent with Grams. She was one of a kind, the sweetest, most selfless person, just like my Mom, so it shows how amazing of a mother she was. Adding grandmother, great grandmother, friend, sibling, I could go on and on. I wish I got to see you more than i did but I'll always cherish the memories I have shared with you. The phone calls, birthday cards, little things that mean so much. I'm just proud and lucky to say you were my grandmother...and remember all our names because my Aunts and Uncles sure know how to procreate, lol. I aspire to be half even a quarter of the person you were, I love you so much Grams and will miss you but I have a feeling you will be keeping your eye on all of us with Grandpa. What can I say about our Aunt Daph that has not already been said. You could always look forward to hear from her a quick one liner when you neede it or she could give you some very good advice, I always looked forward to seeing her at the family reunion's. It was always fun to listen to her and my grandmother speak of the younger years and tell tales of their adventures. I have so many wonderful memories of Aunt Daph. She was always the sweetest woman and I would look forward to the family reunions because I knew she would be there. Her smile would just light up a room! She will be greatly missed.
