Obituary of Charles R. McCloskey, Jr.

Charles R. (Chuck) McCloskey, Jr., 63, of Lickingville, died Saturday evening, November 5, 2016 at his home after a lengthy illness. Born June 2, 1953 in Clarion, he was the son of the late Charles R. McCloskey, Sr. and Betty D. Silvis McCloskey of Jefferson Manor in Brookville. Chuck was a heavy equipment operator for Siegel Coal Company. He owned and operated C & J Nursery in Lickingville for over 30 years. He was most recently a heavy equipment operator for Passauer Excavating. He was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and landscaping. Most mornings you could find Chuck at the Sawmill Restaurant having coffee with his friends. Chuck is survived by two daughters: Charlene R. McCloskey of Marienville and Debra J. McCloskey of Wilmington, Delaware. He is also survived by a brother, Douglas McCloskey and his wife, Angie of Lickingville. In addition, he is survived by 3 nephews: Brock C. McCloskey of Savannah, GA; Garrett M. McCloskey of Gerard, PA and Brent McCloskey of Annapolis, Maryland. Chuck was preceded in death by his father. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Jonathan Bell, pastor of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Lickingville Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
