Obituary of Linda Mae Burkett

Linda Mae Burkett, 63, of Tionesta, died Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Clarion Hospital after an extended illness. Born April 30, 1953 in New Kensington, she was the daughter of Lewis and Betty Lou (Edmonds) Keibler. She was married to Daniel Earl Burkett, Sr. on February 17, 1971, by Rev. Ronald Chittester and he preceded her in death on March 3, 1978. Linda was a school van driver for Yellow Rose Transportation. She enjoyed going to yard sales, shopping, watching game shows, playing cards and games and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by two sons: Robert S. Burkett and his wife, Emma and Jeffrey W. Burkett and his wife, Stephanie, all of Tionesta. She is also survived by 3 brothers and 3 sisters: Richard Keibler and his wife, Beth of Connecticut; James Edmonds and his wife, Darlene of Brookville; Dora Riegle and her husband, Larry of Apollo; Mary Jane Long and her husband, Ernie of Leechburg, Brian Ruffner of Ohio and Susie Kepple of Vandergrift. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Linda was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Earl Burkett, Jr. and a sister, Brenda Hutchison. Friends and family may call on Saturday, October 8 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 9836 Route 36, Tionesta, PA. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Jonathan Bell, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Washington Cemetery. The family requests donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
