Angeline L. Lencer, 83, of Pittsburgh, died Wednesday afternoon, April 6, 2016 at her residence. Born July 27, 1932 in Hallton, Elk County, she was the daughter of the late Michael S. and Barbara E. Sheronovich Lencer.
Angie graduated from Farmington Schools in 1949. She retired after 37 years of service from Bell Telephone. She was a long time member of Bell Telephone Pioneers. She also worked for Lutheran Social Services and RSVP Meals on Wheels. She volunteered for RSVP and was named Outstanding Volunteer for the year 2006 in Allegheny County.
She was a member of the Incarnation of the Lord Church in North Side Pittsburgh and the Ladies Guild of the church. She enjoyed cooking, baking and feeding many family and friends. She also enjoyed playing cards and doing ceramics.
Angie is survived by 3 sisters and 3 brothers: Pauline Starkey of Hartville, Ohio; Barb Karg and her husband, George of Crown; Theresa Cyphert and her husband, Larry of Dubois; Henry Lencer and his wife, Cathy of Crown; Tony Lencer and his wife, Irene of Crown and Frank (Fran) Lencer and his wife, Dode of Crown. In addition she is survived by 2 brother-in-laws: Joseph Clark of Apollo and Richard (Rit) Ochs of Lucinda. She is also survived by 55 nieces and nephews, 67 great nieces and nephews and 2 great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Angie was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters: Rudolph Lencer, Michael Lencer, Joseph Lencer, Katherine Lencer, Sr. Josephine Lencer, Rose Clark and Mary Ochs.
Friends and family may call on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, April 9, from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc., 32936 Route 66, in Leeper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 117 Lencer Drive, in Crown with Rev. Christopher Barnes, Pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
