Obituary of Gilbert Z. Grant

Gilbert Z. Grant, 36, of Kingston, Jamaica died Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the home of friends in Clifton Forge, Virginia after a long illness. Born December 17, 1979 in Kingston, he was the son of Deleta Williams-Malcolm (Miss Darling) and the late Gilbert George Grant. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Hannah Bendal and their son, Benjamin Grant, both of Lucinda. He is also survived by a son, Garth W. Grant and 3 daughters: Tanya A. (Angel) and Omotalia Grant, both of Jamaica and Chanelle L. Grant of Clifton Forge Virginia. He is also survived by 3 brothers: Dalral Grant and David Grant, both of Jamaica and Phillip Campbell of New York City, NY and 4 sisters: Sashauya, Janice, Julian and Theresha Grant, all of Jamaica. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Cathleen Morris and his closest friends, Omar McKoy, Owen Nickel and Phillip. He will be sadly missed by his family and all of his friends at Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, VA, where he has been employed for the last 10 years. Friends and family will be received from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fryburg. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. D.G. Davis III, pastor, presiding. Interment was in St. Michael Catholic Church cemetery.
