Obituary of Kathryn A. Gatesman

Kathryn A. Gatesman, 99, of Lucinda, died early Monday morning, April 13, 2015 at her home. Born January 13, 1916, in Huefner, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Melanie Schill Judy. Kathryn married Leo E. Gatesman on October 8, 1938 and he preceded her in death on October 16, 1987. Mrs. Gatesman was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda and the Rosary Society of the church. She enjoyed her family, quilting and playing cards. Kathryn is survived by two children: Marlene Boboige and her husband, John of Sykesville and Andrew W. Gatesman and his wife, Louann of Lucinda. She is also survived by a brother, Robert Judy and his wife, Nancy of Dallas, Texas. In addition she is survived by 7 grandchildren: John Boboige, Kathy Ellenberger, Becky Egan, Tracy Crissman, Mark Gatesman, Dale Gatesman and Leann Monn. She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Kathryn was preceded in death by an infant son; 4 brothers: Roy, George, Clyde and Paul Judy and 6 sisters: Louise Lander, Blanche Durnell, Ethel Ashton, Evelyn Eiswerth, Betty Esterlein and Rita Steiner; and 1 great grandson, Brian Crissman. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, April 15, from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda, with Rev. Joseph Czarkowski, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the St. Joseph Window Fund or Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice.
