Obituary of Florence E. Hartzell

Florence E. Hartzell, 73, of GoldenLiving Center in Shippenville, and formerly of the Tionesta area, died early Monday morning, December 15, 2014 at GoldenLiving Center. Born August 2, 1941 in Fryburg, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Frances Ginkel Lichtenberger. She married Daniel M. Hartzell, Sr. on December 26, 1959 and he preceded her in death on May 21, 1994. Florence was of the Catholic faith. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing bingo, attending the Senior Citizen's Center in Leeper and spending time with her family and friends. Florence is survived by 2 daughters and 1 son: Tina M. Deloe and her husband, Mark of Tionesta; Melissa Hartzell of Oil City; and Daniel M. Hartzell, Jr. and his wife, Lynn of Clarion. She is survived by 3 brothers and 1 sister: Robert Lichtenberger of Erie, James Lichtenberger of Oil City, Kathy Mays of Pittsburgh and Larry Lichtenberger of North East. In addition she is survived by 5 grandchildren: Mark D. Deloe, Howard J. Deloe, Kassie Deloe, Christopher Daniel Hartzell and Amanda Marie Hartzell. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren: Maison Deloe, Riley Hunter, Jason Merryman, Evelyn Deloe, Chloe Conner and Milton Deloe. In addition to her parents and husband, Florence was preceded in death by a brother, John Lichtenberger and a sister, Annie Lichtenberger. Friends and family may call on Thursday, December 18, from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Mass of Christian will be celebrated on Friday, December 19, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church in Crown, with Rev. Christopher Barnes, pastor of the church, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family asks that memorials donations be made to Borland Funeral Home, Inc., P.O. Box 127, Leeper, PA 16233 to help with funeral expenses.
