Obituary of Irene A. Sedwick

Irene A. Sedwick, 89, of Tionesta, died late Sunday afternoon at Golden LivingCenter in Shippenville. Born February 3, 1925 in McKees Rocks, she was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Podsiadley.
She was married to Chester C. Sedwick and he preceded her in death on February 14, 1999.
Mrs. Sedwick was a teacher who taught 1st through 6th grade at St. Columbkille School in Imperial, PA from 1963 - 1969. She enjoyed baking and ran a successful business making specialty cakes in Pittsburgh for over 30 years. Mrs. Sedwick moved to Tionesta in 1991 after retiring as head baker at Carnegie-Mellon University.
Baking was her life for many years and she also taught adult education courses in cake decorating for 10 years. She loved animals of all kinds.
The Sedwick's moved to Tionesta in 1992, after retiring.
Mrs. Sedwick was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Imperial and St. Anthony Catholic Church in Tionesta.
Mrs. Sedwick is survived by a son, John Sedwick and his wife, Lisa, of Walla Walla, Washington. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Alleah & Bridger Sedwick.
In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda L. Sedwick and a brother, Stanley Podsiadley.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
