Obituary of Lawrence J. Griebel

Lawrence J. "Junior" Griebel, 81, of Lucinda, died Monday evening, January 6, 2014 at his home. Born July 2, 1932 in Brookville, he was the son of the late Lawrence Jacob and Florence E. Fitzgerald Griebel.
He married the former Lucille A. "Susie" Ochs on April 8, 1961 at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda and she preceded him in death on November 10, 2012.
Mr. Griebel served with the U.S. Army. He worked for the Marienville Glass Plant. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda. In addition, he was a member of the Clarion Moose Club, the Lucinda Antler Club and the Clarion American Legion.
Junior enjoyed clock collecting and repair and hunting with his family.
Mr. Griebel is survived by 3 sons: Rodney J. Griebel and his wife, Rhea of Hanover, PA, Todd M. Griebel of Mesa, Arizona and Lawrence J. Griebel, Jr. and his wife, Theresa of Kent Island, Maryland. In addition, he is survived by 3 sisters and 2 brothers: JoAnn Sedon of Warren, PA, Shirley McFarland and her husband, Harvey of Florida, Ronald Griebel and his wife, Nancy of Erie, William Griebel of Snydersburg and Kathleen Doyle of Flagstaff, Arizona.
He is survived by 3 grandchildren: Samantha, Hannah and Ava Griebel and 2 step-grandchildren: Michael Money and his wife, Jaclyn of Crofton Maryland and Jeffery Money of Mississippi. He is also survived by 4 step-great grandchildren: Michelle, Ryan, Jeffery, Jr. and Samantha Money.
In addition to his parents and wife, Junior was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Griebel.
Friends and family may call from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2014 at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda. A Mass of Christian will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Czarkowski, pastor of the church, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
