Obituary of Willis J. Weaver

Willis J. Weaver, Sr., 94, of Lucinda, died Tuesday afternoon, December 17, 2013 at his home. Born February 19, 1919, in Fryburg, he was the son of the late Alfred H. and Irene Denslinger Weaver. He married the former Rosemary C. Ochs on September 30, 1947 at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda and she survives. Mr. Weaver served in the U.S. Army during WW II in the European Theatre. He retired from Oilwell Supply in Oil City in 1984. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda. In addition to his wife, Mr. Weaver is survived by a son Robert A. Weaver and his wife, Kathleen of Tionesta. He is also survived by a sister, Rita Aaron of Franklin and a brother, Leo Weaver and his wife, Kay of Rimersburg. He is survived by 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Weaver and her fianc, Jason Pollock of Tionesta, Deanna Doyle and her husband, Brian of Cranberry Township, Edward Weaver, Katrina Weaver and Jackie Weaver, all of Missouri. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Weaver was preceded in death by a son, W. Joseph Weaver, Jr., a brother, Merle Weaver and a sister, Mary Alice Schreffler. Friends and family may call from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 21, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda with Rev. Joseph Czarkowski, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Church or School in Lucinda.
