Obituary of Vincent A. Wolbert

Vincent A. Wolbert, 85, of Vowinckel, died early Monday morning, May 6, 2013 at his home. Born July 2, 1927 in Lucinda, he was the son of the late Leonard F. & Charlotte C. Schmader Wolbert.
He married Nina L. Grubbs on July 11, 1953 and she survives.
Mr. Wolbert served with the U.S. Army during WW II.
Vince worked at Marienville Glass until it closed. He then worked at Joe's Garage in Tylersburg and Strattan Homes in Strattanville. He was also a poll worker at the Crown Voting Precinct.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Crown and the Knights of Columbus, St. Huberts Council 10341. He enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, rides along Clarion River looking for eagles and deer, Westerns, and scratch-off lottery tickets.
Mr. Wolbert is survived by 2 daughters, Linda Hollis and her husband, Denny of Wolf's Corners and Dixie Dunkerley of North Carolina and a daughter-in-law, Linda Wolbert of Brockway. He is also survived by a sister, Lucille (Tootle) Collette and a brother, Edwin Wolbert and his wife, Betty, all of Lucinda. In addition he is survived by 9 grandchildren: Curtis Wolbert, Angela Hollis, Sarah Rearick, Kayla Tannehill, Jessica Wolbert, Justin Wolbert, John Dunkerley, David Dunkerley and Bill Dunkerley. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his special pet, Baby, who went everywhere with him.
In addition to his parents, Vince was preceded in death by 3 sons: Vincent (Butch) Wolbert, Bradley Wolbert and Brian Wolbert; 4 brothers: Gervase, Claude, Roy, and Leonard Wolbert and 3sisters: Mercedes Weaver, Shirley Zacherl and Jane Zerbe.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Funeral Rite and Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary Church in Crown with Rev. Gregory Passauer, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Butler VA Hospital Building Fund, 325 New Castle Road, Butler, PA 16001.
