Obituary of Kenneth S Snyder

Kenneth S. "Nugget" Snyder, 82, of Snydersburg, died suddenly, Wednesday evening, February 15, 2012 at Clarion Hospital. Born May 1, 1929, in Lucinda he was the son of the late Francis C. and Elva M. Schmader Snyder. He married the former Anna M. Rapp on November 14, 1953 at St. Michael Church in Fryburg and she survives. Mr. Snyder worked for Joe's Garage in Tylersburg and then became owner of Ken's Fix-It Shop in Snydersburg. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Lucinda. He enjoyed his afternoon meetings at the Sawmill Restaurant in Leeper and fishing. He was an avid solitaire player. In addition to his wife, Mr. Snyder is survived by two children, Kenneth A. Snyder and his wife, Karen of Shippenville and Amy M. Andre and her husband, Mike of Douglassville, PA. He is also survived by 4 sisters, Norma Jean Heinrich of Clarion, Margaret "Peg" Bauer of Crown, Lois "Loie" Scott of Marienville and Anastasia "Stashe" Osterried of Oil City. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Heather Schmader and her husband, Kyle; Matthew and Christian Snyder and Danielle and David Andre and 3 great grandchildren: Griffin and Gabrielle Schmader and Treyson Snyder. In addition to his parents, Mr. Snyder was preceded in death by 8 siblings: Imelda "Med" Griebel, Gerard "Pete" Snyder, Leon W. Snyder, William "Bill" Snyder, Philomenia "Phyllis" Bowen, Eugene "Huey" Snyder, John "Jack" Snyder and Francis Caspar Snyder, II who died at birth. Friends and family may call from 6-8 on Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 18, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda, with Rev. William C. Miller, pastor as celebrant.
