Obituary of Mary F Bauer

Mary F. "Cookie" Bauer, 69, of Lucinda, died Monday afternoon, December 26, 2011 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie after a short illness. Born March 8, 1942 in Snydersburg, she was the daughter of Edward F., Jr. and Mary M. Baumcratz Wolbert. She married Lawrence J. Bauer, Jr. on November 21, 1960 at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda and he survives.
Mrs. Bauer was a member of St. Joseph Church in Lucinda and the Rosary Society of the church.
She was a homemaker and babysat for many children in the Lucinda area, whom she considered like her own children. She enjoyed decorating cakes, baking, cooking and sharing it with everyone. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grand children and great grandchildren. She was a very loving and special person. She will be sadly missed by many.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bauer is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Marie Carroll and her special friend, Mike Parry of Lucinda and 3 sons, Lawrence James Bauer III and his special friend, Susan Bower of Shippenville; Brian Edward Bauer and his wife, Toni of Lucinda and Richard Allen Bauer and his wife, Kelly of Lucinda. She is survived by 3 sisters, Janet Fesenmyer and her husband, Eugene of Fryburg, Edith Lander and her husband, William, Jr. of Lucinda and Julie Lander and her special friend, Mark DeVore of Lucinda. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Brenda Howarth, Ashley Keen, Meranda Knorr, Jamie Bauer, Zeke Bauer, Taylor Bauer, Beth Bauer and Trey Bauer and 3 great grandchildren: Gavin Howarth, Gabby Howarth and Natalie Knorr.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bauer was preceded in death by a daughter, Holly Nicole Bauer, who she is now with in heaven.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 30, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda with Rev. William C. Miller, pastor as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Clarion Forest VNA.
