Obituary of Ardelle E. Faraone

Ardelle E. Faraone, 82, of Newmansville, died early Friday morning, April 8, 2011 at The Caring Place in Franklin. Born October 18, 1928 in Oil City, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Rose J. Miller Pleger, Sr. Ardelle was married to Joseph L. Faraone, Sr. on February 10, 1950 and he preceded her in death on August 19, 1972. She worked for the Oil City Glass Plant in the late 1940's, and in the 1980's she worked for the laundromat in Tionesta. She retired from Golden Living Center in Shippenville in 1998. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Newmansville where she had served as Sunday School Superintendent in the past. Ardelle sang with her sister, Shirley, live on radio station WKRZ in Oil City in the mid 1940's. She enjoyed playing guitar, organ, piano and accordion in the local area and in local churches. Mrs. Faraone is survived by 3 sons and 4 daughters: Joseph L. Faraone, Jr. and his wife, Connie of Tionesta, Anthony E. Faraone and his wife, Jill of Seneca, Dale A. Faraone and his wife, Julie of Minnesota, Ruth Ann Weis of Corry, Sandra Parker and her husband, Harry of Franklin, Ardelle McNabb and her husband, Earle of Port Charlotte, Florida and Jacqueline M. Hancock and her husband, Sam of Titusville. She is also survived by a sister, Shirley Beichner of Oil City and 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Ardelle was preceded in death by 2 brothers, John and Edward Pleger and 3 sisters, Helen Marsh, Lillian Stover and Emogene Silvis. Friends and family may call on Monday, April 11, 2011 from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Chris Hill, of the Oil City Free Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Church cemetery in Crown. The family suggests memorials be made to the Pleasantville Camp, 260 Third Street, Pleasantville, PA 16341.
