I would like to read something Bess wrote to her uncle Bri.
“He is now in heaven with the eagles and the angels.”
Those are the words he wrote to his brother Brad, who passed just over a year before him.
Those two were something else. They loved to make everyone laugh. When we were kids and they teamed up you knew to start running. For me it was painted fingernails, Kay had rocks in her pants, or calling Sarah “Stanley.” They could surely tease and everyone knew it!
But now its heavens turn to have them and the angels will have their hands full with those Wolbert boys and their jokes.
Having Brian as an uncle meant you had to be strong. Brian didn’t mince words, he told it like it was. If you put on a few pounds, he didn’t ask if you lost weight, he'd ask if you put on a few pounds.
Brian was a very faithful man to everyone, especially his wife, our Aunt Julie "D." We would like to thank Brian for bringing Julie into our family. Never have we seen a couple so close with so much in common. I'm sure she's heard next to every fishing story out there, being married to the pro fisherman. He really did find his other half. They are both blessed, for it's not something that happens to everyone.
Most people would say he didn't have any kids, but that’s not true. His dogs were his kids. From putting them in school to their extracurricular activities at the dog shows they were his pride and joy. With Rex, there’s no other dog like him. Bess remembers walking down to Grandma Cochran’s house and when uncle Bri would go "bang" and Rex would drop just like that.
It wasn't until this year that Bess got close to her uncle Bri. She never got to tell him, but she is very proud of him and thankful for everything he's done for the three of them. Sometimes she’d get upset but then remember uncle Bri didn't have babies; he was given three almost grown kids. Everything he was doing for them, he did out of his heart and how he felt their dad would have wanted it done.
Bess gained a lot of strength through him. He was a very smart and such a kind hearted man that never put himself ahead of others. You know you've raised a wonderful son when he comes to see you every weekend rain, snow, or shine. He sure did love his mom and dad.
As we all gather here today we aren't gathering at the loss of another person but to the addition of another angel to watch over us. When you're driving a little too fast, acting a little too careless, or maybe you’re about to...and you see that little shadow or hear that little noise - that’s him casting his fishing pole down to catch you before you fall, and trust me he will because he sure could fish.

Julie,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I knew Brian through our love of dogs and training. He was the most kindest, sweetest person I ever meet. Anyone who ever saw Brian work and train his dogs, would instantly see a man who adored his dogs and loved training them. He was always so gentle with them, as Brian was a gentle person with a heart of gold. He touched many lives and will be missed by more people than you will ever realize. My fondest memory of Brian will be at the agility classes we took together, he was always so happy, so upbeat, always smiling, just happy to be doing agility with his dogs.
Please remember, that those we love will always remain a part of us.
