Barbara I. Donahue, 59, of Porterdale, Georgia died suddenly, Friday, November 12, 2010 at Newton Medical Center in Covington, GA.
Born on April 4, 1951 in Brookville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Mary Louise Dechant Donahue.
She was a 1969 graduate of North Clarion High School. She worked for the Cleveland Clinic as a medical transcriptionist and for the Mayo Clinic when she lived in Arizona.
Barbara loved to travel and went on several cruises and made a pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Yugoslavia. Her favorite travels, though, were to visit her nieces and nephews. She loved to read and had several complete collections of authors. In her spare time she made crafts and then donated them to churches for Christmas gifts for the needy. Sun catchers were her favorite thing to make.
Barbara is survived by 2 brothers and 1 sister: John E. Donahue and his wife, Helen of Leeper, Francis Donahue and his wife, Kathleen of Portage, Indiana and Shirley Petrochic and her husband, Thomas of Euclid, Ohio. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Grace Ann Donahue in 1955 and Eileen Schill in 2003.
Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at St. Mary Church in Crown. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Gregory Passauer, pastor of the church, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
