Obituary of Raymond G. Fair

Raymond G. (Turtle) Fair, 76, of Newmansville, died Tuesday afternoon, September 14, 2010 in an automobile accident on Miola Road, Clarion County. Born September 8, 1934 in South Connellsville, he was the son of Irvin Gilbert and Gertrude Primus Fair.
He married the former Patricia Queer on January 19, 1972 in Winchester, Indiana and she preceded him in death on September 24, 2001.
Mr. Fair served with the U.S. Army. He worked in mills around Niles, Ohio and at OMCO Mold in Winchester as an electrician. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa Fraternity in Winchester, IN, The American Legion, NRA, Fryburg Sportsman's Club, Clarion County Rod and Gun Club, Marienville Rod and Gun Club, Forest County Sportsman's Club and a life member of North American Hunting Club. He was and avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a member of Newmansville Free Methodist Church.
Mr. Fair is survived by 2 daughters and 1 son: Vylinda Driskill and friend Jan, Jerald (Jerry) Fair and his fiancée, Robin and Lois (Kay) Myers and her husband, Don, all of Winchester, Indiana and two stepsons: Thomas Miller, Jr. and his wife, Mona of Mt. Pleasant, PA and Gary Miller of Indianapolis, Indiana. He is also survived by a sister, Shirley Brown of Connellsville, PA and a brother, Robert Fair of Redkey, Indiana and one uncle Charles Fair of Florida. He is survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his faithful dog, Holly.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Fair was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald. Also killed in the accident was his best friend, Bob Jarrett of Tionesta.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 17, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service. A separate memorial service will be held at a later date in Winchester Indiana.
