My deepest sympathy to your family. Although I did not know Fred well, I did work with him a time or two. He had a way of making people feel welcome on his unit and I knew that I was in safe hands with him guiding me through unfamiliar situations. He was always available for questions and guidance. Fred and I worked together at Clarion Hospital. Fred was always a quiet person making you wonder what he was thinking. I always thought he was just thinking up his next joke. He was a very funny person always throwing those jokes out there when you least expected it. When Fred and I worked together we were known as the "Fred and Red team" He will be very missed by many. I am so very sorry for your loss. Fred was a sweet person. I worked with him at the hospital, and we were always telling each other jokes. (he of course was a lot better at it than I) I would tease him about all the quilts he won at the 4th of July celebration, and tell him I was going to come and "steal" them from him. He would just smile, and say he was keeping them in his hope chest. He must have had some hope chest to be able to hold all of them!! He also would hunt muzzle season with my husband and I, and had a few "stories" to tell. I will sorely miss him.

I WORKED WITH FRED FOR 10 YEARS AT CLARION HOSPITAL. HE AND I GOT ALONG GREAT. HE WOULD ALWAYS ASK ME WHAT I WAS GETTING HIM FOR HIS BIRTHDAY BECAUSE HE AND I SHARED THE SAME DAY. I went to school with Fred.There was a group of us, that had an ongoing yuker tournament, all through high school.We would play at studyhalls & during lunch nearly everyday.Fred still managed to get very good grades,while the rest of us suffered a bit in that regard.We all had many hunting stories to share in those days, & hunting remained a big part of Freds free time activities. As we had gotten older, & were busy with everyday life, I may only see Fred once a year or so,but he always had another hunting adventure, he was looking forward to, & would tell me about the one he had just experienced.Fred was an old friend, as were all the guys in that yuker club we formed in highshcool. Even though none of us would see one another for long periods of time, I always felt that we would be there for each other in a time of need.Even though Fred didn't have a big voice, He had a huge character. He will be greatly missed by many. My prayers will go out for him & his family. May God bless them all.

I've worked at Clarion Hospital with Freddie since I began approx. 20 years ago. He was such a compassionate caring nurse. He even had a following of several elderly ladies who insisted on Fred being their nurse when they were patients here. All his patients loved him. He was a bit of a quiet person but believe you me he had his moments. He could come up with some of the funniest things at times that I would have to stop and say "that came out of Fred". I worked on the same weekend as Fred and on occassion we would have breakfast together. I really enjoyed seeing that side of Fred. He would open up, talk, and laugh the entire time we were on break. I'm gonna miss those talks and I am surely going to miss Freddie.

Fred and I started at Clarion hospital at the same time give or take a few months. This means we worked together for 24yrs.He could be quiet at times but then other times say something so funny off the wall that he would have everyone laughing.Fred and I both liked talking football especially about the Steelers and also hunting. I have known Fred since I was a nurse at Glass Containers in 1976. He was a very quite person. After it shut down I came back to Clarion Hsp. and I took care of his mom when she first found out she had Cancer. She was so proud of her Freddy for going to Nursing school and when He started at Clarion He worked on my floor and would come to our monthly luncheons and was a very funny and friendly person. He always told me my Christmas present was in the parking lot with a large red bow on it and when I would tell hhim I could not find it he would say Dr. Hoh must have taken it. he always said his many quilts were his retirement and he was always happy to have won another at the picnic on the 4th of July. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

I have worked with Freddy for several years. He was an extremely smart/skilled nurse and i can not imagine Clarion hospital without him.Fred was part of it.He had a quiet demeanor, but a quick dry wit which he would use at the most unexpected times and really surprise us!I was priveledged to know Fred. Mr. Griebel was my nurse years ago...I had extreme post-operative discomfort and I would not, could not eat. Mr. Griebel was so kind and patient. He fed me with a spoon, coaxing me like the infant I had become in that world of pain. I never forgot his goodness.

I worked with Fred at Clarion Hospital. He was a good nurse and a good person. He will surely be missed.
