Herman T. Steinman, 76, of RD Tionesta (Lake Lucy) died Sunday afternoon, July 4, 2010, at his home. Born November 7, 1933 at Brush Valley, Indiana County, PA, he was the son of John Harry and Carrie Statum Steinman.
Mr. Steinman married the former Isadora Bishop on November 6, 1954 in the Washington Church at Frills Corners and she preceded him in death on March 29, 2003.
Mr. Steinman served with the U.S. Marines from 1952 - 1955 during the Korean War. He drove truck for a living.
He was a member of the Clarion American Legion.
Mr. Steinman is survived by 1 son, Donald Steinman of Lake Lucy and 2 daughters, Diana Hudson and her husband Lanny of Lake Lucy and Dorene Jones of Newmansville. He is survived by 2 sisters, Katherine Coy of Union City and Betty Allison of Clymer. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Shirley Steinman of Lake Lucy. He is survived by 10 grandchildren Matthew Steinman, Brian Steinman, Patrick Steinman, Dennis Hudson, Darrel Hudson, Jessica Crosby, Mary Bauer, Andrew Jones, Christopher Steinman and Jennifer Steinman. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Steinman was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Steinman and several brothers and sisters.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 and 10 - 11 Wednesday July 7, 2010 at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. David Coul, pastor of Good Shepherd Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Dehner Cemetery.
The family suggest Memorials be made to Clarion Forest VNA Hospice Program or Clarion Cancer Center.
